Delhi's First Information Technology Park located at Shastri Park and
constructed by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation was inaugurated by Smt.
Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister of Delhi on 2nd April, 2005. The Delhi
Information Technology Park is at the heart of the city and within a short
drive of the city's key residential areas and Central Business District.
The Sophisticated settings of the Delhi Information Technology Park provides
a sylvan environment for most prominent and talented IT corporates. The
Delhi Information Technology (IT) Park has been set up on a 6-hectare
plot, just off the G.T. Road. To the South of the park is the Shastri
Park Metro Station. Direct entry is available by road from G.T. Road at
the North and from the Shastri Park Metro Station at the South, through
a foot over bridge being built. Excellent connectivity by both road and
metro is vital for the viability of the IT Park, enabling the creation
of an IT hub close to the urban center of Delhi.
This park will accommodate three large buildings each with a floor space
of approximately 30,000 sqm, with basement parking, and modern facilities,
specially designed for software development and computer-based services.
Block No. I, consisting of the ground and eight (G + 8) floors above two
parking basements, has just been completed with state-of-the-art technology,
including high end communication facilities, failsafe power supply, scalable
international quality business space and an intelligent building management
system. This block will be managed by M/s L&T Info City, who also
own and manage the well known 'Cyber Towers' in HITEC city, Hyderabad.
The first and second floors of Block-I have already been leased out to
M/s GE Capital for ITES operations. It is proposed to rent out the remaining
floors to other reputed operators in the field of Information Technology.
