DELHI METRO TO START ONLINE SLOGAN WRITING COMPETITION FROM TOMORROW AS PART OF ITS INITIATIVES UNDER SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN



The Delhi Metro, as part of its various initiatives under “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” is organising an “Online Slogan Writing Competition” on the topic “Swachh Metro” fromtomorrow i.e. 26th September 2017 til 2nd October 2017 (midnight).

The main objective of this Slogan competition is to directly involve the Metro commuters in DMRC’s initiatives and instill in them a sense of belonging and cleanliness for the Metro system. The competition is open to all Smart Card Users of the Delhi Metro. To participate, commuters can visit our official website www.delhimetrorail.com and fill a form by clicking on the link of Slogan Competition on the homepage. Only online entries will be accepted. The Slogans can be either in English or Hindi.

DMRC also organised a number of Nukkad Nataks at major stations from 17th September to 25th September highlighting the importance of cleanliness and encourage general public to make Swacch Bharat Abhiyan a success. The series of Street Plays was spread across the entire Delhi Metro network covering stations like Dilshad Garden, Shahdara, Seelampur, Shastri Park, Vishvavidyalaya, Adarsh Nagar, Chandni Chowk, New Delhi, Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat, Hauz Khas, AIIMS, Dwarka Sector – 21, Dwarka Mor, Nawada, Uttam Nagar (E), Akshardham, Noida Sector – 18, Botanical Garden, Noida City Centre, Nehru Place, Jasola, Badarpur and Escorts Mujesar.

Other activities organsied by Delhi Metro in recent days were observance of Sewa Diwas (17th Sep 2017), Samagra Swachhata Diwas (24th Sep 2017) and Sarvatra Swachhata Diwas (25th Sep 2017) which included extensive cleaning at all its premises, removal of posters, debris, damaged items etc. from Metro properties, viaducts, station area and guide/counsel general public to abstain from defacing Metro property. Banners and hoardings have also been installed at all the major stations to create awareness amongst commuters regarding importance of cleanliness in and around our surroundings.
