Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi flags off Badarpur – Faridabad Metro Section, takes metro ride
The Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, flagged off Metro services on the Badarpur – Escorts Mujesar (Faridabad) Metro section today.
The Prime Minister travelled by the Delhi Metro from Janpath Station upto Bata Chowk which is 32 Kms. by the Delhi Metro. The Train in which Prime Minister was travelling took approximately 50 minutes to reach Bata Chowk. During his travel on the Metro system the Hon’ble Prime Minister interacted with general public who were very excited that the Prime Minister of the Country was travelling on the train along with them. His travel on the train was relayed live on television, as a result of which, people were standing on their roof tops all along the Faridabad corridor to wave to the dignitary. DMRC’s Managing Director Dr. Mangu Singh accompanied the Prime Minister throughout the journey.
The Badarpur – Escorts Mujesar (Faridabad) Metro corridor is 13.875 kilometres long and is an extension of the presently operational ITO – Badarpur section (Line 6) of the Delhi Metro.
There are nine elevated stations in this section namely Sarai, NHPC Chowk, Mewala Maharajpur, Sector – 28, Badkal Mor, Old Faridabad, Neelam Chowk Ajronda, Bata Chowk and Escorts Mujesar. This corridor is also being extended up to Ballabhgarh now. Inside Delhi, the corridor is being further extended from ITO till Kashmere Gate. After completion, the Kashmere Gate – Ballabhgarh corridor will be 46.6 kilometres long. The estimated daily ridership by the end of 2015 is approximately 1.95 lakhs.
