Metro today has a current operational network covering 156 kms approx. in Delhi
and the National Capital Region (Gurgaon and Noida) with 132 operational
stations. However, the following corridors are not yet operational and their
status is as below:
- The
Airport Express Link which will connect New Delhi Railway Station with
Dwarka Sector 21 via the IGI Airport is not yet operational. This corridor
which is 22.7 kms long is likely to be opened for public use soon,
probably within a month’s time.
At present the
nearest Metro station to the Airport is Dwarka Sector 21 which is at a distance
of approx. 2.5 kms from the Airport. Dwarka Sector 21 is situated on Line 3
(Blue Line) connecting Noida City Centre to Dwarka Sector 21.
- The
Sarita Vihar – Badarpur section on Line 6 which is 5 kms long is also
expected to become operational soon for the public. This corridor is on
Line 6 (Violet Line) and currently connects upto Sarita Vihar from Central Secretariat.
- The extension
of Line 4 (Blue Line) which currently connects Yamuna Bank with Anand
Vihar ISBT, till Kaushambi and Vaishali is expected to become operational
by June 2011. This corridor is 2.57 kms in length.
- The link
connecting Kirti Nagar on Line 3 with Ashok Park Main on Line 5 which is
called the Green Line and which connects Inderlok with Mundka is also
expected to open in the first half of 2011. This link is 3.5 kms long
approx. and will be apart of Line 5 connecting Kirti Nagar with Ashok Park Main via Satguru
Ram Singh Marg.
If a commuter
faces any problem / inconvenience at any Metro station he / she is requested to
contact the Station Controller of that particular station for further
instructions and guidance
